Bodies of dead animals

DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE

DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE:
The bodies of various types of animals have been discovered in public places in the Heart of the City, including Franklin Park, the Arnold Arboretum, and the Stony Brook MBTA Station. Police, residents, and park rangers have found the bodies of cats, birds, goats, dogs, rodents, and other animals. Sometimes the animal bodies have been mangled or decapitated. According to police, the evidence strongly suggests that some of the animals have been used for ritualistic ceremonies.

The dead animals and the possible practices behind them have disturbed some residents in the Heart of the City and may to some degree have inhibited use of the land.
