DESCRIPTION: This Jamaica Plain group has organized in order to represent community interests for the redevelopment of the Arborway Yard at the Forest Hills MBTA Station, particularly the bus storage facility that is being planned by the MBTA. Many participants are also members of the larger group, the Community Planning Committee for the Arborway Yard CPCAY.

The group has become educated about a number of technical and non-technical issues surrounding bus facilities. They have studied the full gamut of issues -- everything from possible column-width to current ambient noise to relevant union laws to historic and current visions for the surrounding greenspace. They are intimately familiar with the architectural plans for the area and work with MBTA and Boston Redevelopment Authority officials regularly. They also run community forums for public discussion of the plans.

The Jamaica Plain Open Space Committee will be facilitating the development of a vision for the Emerald Necklace reconnector rather than the Arborway Yard Community Caucus.
